Travelling with the kids this school holidays? Surf Life Saving Queensland’s Little Lifesavers program is sure to keep them entertained! For children aged from 5-11 years old, the Little Lifesavers program is designed not only to be fun and engaging, but also educational, with the program teaching kids about water safety. Through participation in a range of water activities, beach games and rescue techniques in flat water, kids will walk away with the essential skills and confidence needed when in the water.

Northern Australian Beach 5s Rugby Championships

Taking place on The Strand’s sandy beach, the Northern Australian Beach Fives Rugby can be described as fast-paced, exciting and an experience like no other. The game is based on modified rules of Rugby Union and Rugby League, with no scrums or line outs, and is played on an inflatable, 30m x 25m arena to the backdrop of the ocean. Free to the public, locals and visitors alike can watch all the action from grandstand viewing platforms and enjoy drinks, food and live entertainment from the fully-licensed Beach Bar.

Prepare for three hours of on-the-edge-of-your-seat viewing, as you watch 22 riders take on the nation’s most extreme bucking bulls in the 2021 PBR Australia Grand Finals. The final and deciding chapter of the PBR year-long race for National Titles will be held over two action-packed nights at the Townsville Entertainment and Convention Centre. A showdown like no other, attendees can expect pyrotechnics, lasers, a concert sound system and mega screen replays, as well as a unique behind-the-scenes look inside the bucking chutes as riders prepare for the ride of their life.

KISS – End of the Road World Tour

World Triathlon Multisport World Championships

Set to attract over 8000 athletes and spectators, the ITU Multisport World Champions will be the largest sporting event ever to be held in Townsville. Quickly growing to become one of the most popular and diverse events on the global calendar since it debuted three short years ago, the Championships offers something for every athlete. Particularly, across ten days of competition the world’s best athletes compete across five world championship disciplines - duathlon, cross triathlon, aquathlon, aquabike and long-distance triathlon.
